After 31 years of marriage, the Palins have split up. According to court filings first reported by the Alaskan media, Todd filed for divorce from Sarah on Sept. 6.
The 55-year-old cited “incompatibility of temperament between the parties such that they find it impossible to live together as husband and wife,” according to a copy of his divorce complaint, dated Aug. 27.
(According to the Washington Post, “incompatibility of temperament” in Alaska is not unlike “irreconcilable differences” in other divorces.)
The two eloped in 1988 and have five children together: Bristol, Trig, Track, Willow and Piper.

After dating for seven months, the pair has called it quits, PEOPLE exclusively revealed in late August.

The Hills stars have split just one year after their intimate Indonesian wedding.
“Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter have decided to amicably separate,” the pair’s reps, Scott Newman and Lindsay Maguire, told PEOPLE on August 2.
“They love and respect one another, and know that this is the best decision for their relationship moving forward,” the reps added.
A source told PEOPLE that Brody and Carter were not legally married as they never made their union official.
“Brody and Kaitlynn have had issues for years. It is no secret amongst those who knew them. And the show was not good for them,” the source said of The Hills: New Beginnings.

Just months after revealing their rekindled romance on social media following a brief split in March 2018, Malik and Hadid seemingly called it quits for the second time. Multiple outlets report that the two ended things again around the holidays.

The British singer-songwriter confirmed on the How to Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast that she and her DJ boyfriend (real name: Daniel Lawrence London) parted ways.
“I’ve always had a boyfriend. I don’t at the moment. I’m single for the first time since I was about 15,” Allen said in the interview, posted on Jan. 2.
The “Trigger Bang” singer had been linked to Dan since 2015.

The music stars appear to have called off their engagement, scrubbing their Instagrams clean save for a New Year’s Day post Braxton uploaded where she spoke about new beginnings.
“Starting a new chapter isn’t always an easy choice… but ALWAYS choose to be chosen,” the “Un-Break My Heart” singer wrote, captioning a photo of herself in a red ballgown. “Cheers to a new year.”
Reps for both stars did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment, but according to E!, Birdman had written “It’s over” on his Instagram Story before clearing all his posts.
Both also unfollowed one another on the popular social media platform. However, by the end of January, they were sparking rumors of a reunion.

The Jersey Shore star and girlfriend Harley split once again following a New Year’s Eve fight.
Ortiz-Magro and Harley, who share 8-month-old daughter Ariana Sky, “got into a fight on New Year’s Eve,” a source told Us Weekly, which first reported the news. “They broke up before New Year’s Eve, got back together right before then and got in a big fight on Monday night.”
The breakup should come as no surprise to Jersey Shore fans, who’ve watched the pair’s ups and downs throughout the past year.
