Pop punk band Blink-182, who embarked on a country-wide tour alongside rapper Lil Wayne earlier this year, have come out in support of the rapper, who canceled several dates on the tour and even walked off the stage at one stop.
After performing a 4-song set at the tour’s stop at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia in July, the rapper walked off stage, giving rise to suspicion that he may forfeit the rest of the tour.
However, Lil Wayne soon clarified that he was not quitting the tour entirely, tweeting, “I’m having too much fun with my bros blink-182. Bangor,ME See you tomorrow!”
In a recent interview with KROQ, the members of Blink-182 clarified that although the rapper was forced to cancel several shows, he had his own reasons and that he was a pleasure to be around and work with.
“The one day where he walked off stage, he had said, ‘I just felt like they didn’t like me,’ so he walked off stage… ‘I didn’t want to put them through it. I just wanted you guys to be able to get on and do your thing,'” Mark Hoppus explained.
