Brad Pitt confirmed last night what we all know to be true: There was definitely room for Jack on the big door at the end of Titanic.
Pitt jokingly referenced the infamous scene in the beloved film while thanking his costar Leonardo DiCaprio during his acceptance speech for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture at the 2020 Golden Globes.
“I also have to thank my partner in crime, LDC. Before The Revenant, I used to watch, year after year, his costars accept awards and thank him profusely. I know why. He’s an all-star, he’s a gent, and I wouldn’t be here without you, man. I thank you,” said Pitt during his speech. “Still, I would have shared the raft,” he added, resulting in laughs from the audience.
Pitt dropped a few dad jokes on the 2020 Golden Globes stage. But because he’s, you know, Brad Pitt, we’ll forgive him for the bouts of cheesiness.
The Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood star also thanked his parents during his acceptance speech while simultaneously taking a jab at himself and the media’s obsession over his rumored dating life.
“I wanted to bring my mom but I couldn’t, because anyone I stand next to, they say I’m dating,” joked Pitt. “And that would just be awkward.”
Time and time again, Pitt has disregarded rumors of his dating life—especially those claiming that he and his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, are set to get back together. The former couple were both in attendance at Netflix’s Golden Globes after-party, however, where they did exchange quick yet warm hellos.
“They said hello very quickly. Jen arrived after Brad. It was brief, but [they] were very cordial and friendly and seemed happy to be there,” a source told E! News.
