Britney Spears is calling out social media followers who may not be feeling the Christmas spirit.
The pop star posted a video on Sunday of her holiday decorations, and shared in the caption that she is sometimes hesitant to share with her followers because “people say the meanest things.”
“If you don’t like a post … just keep it to yourself and unfollow that person !!!” Spears, 38, wrote. “There’s no reason to ever go out of your way to make mean comments and bully people ??? Stay happy and nice this holiday season y’all and God Bless !!!!!”
The “Toxic” singer’s longtime boyfriend, Sam Asghari, backed her up, writing, “It’s so easy to cyber attack and hide behind their phones and write mean comments, but when they run into you in real life all of the sudden they act like they have been such a huge fan and want a picture. #hatersplease.”
Her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, also showed her support by commenting with three red heart emojis.
In recent months, fans claim they have become concerned because Spears has shared several videos of herself modeling different dresses in her Los Angeles home while appearing a bit disheveled with smeared eye makeup and messy hair.
Some still gush over the singer in her posts and tell her to ignore the hate, but others have defended the critics, writing, “We all love her but she isn’t herself anymore. It’s not that hard to brush your hair and wash your makeup. We are all a bit concerned.”
“Concerned” fans also started a #FreeBritney social media movement, in which its followers believe that Spears was forced into a mental health facility earlier this year against her will and is told what to share online.
In May, Spears slammed those rumors, saying those who think she doesn’t post her own videos are “wrong.”
