Coronation Street star Hayley Tamaddon shares photo as she recuperates in hospital

Coronation Street's Hayley Tamaddon was in hospital over the weekend, and she took to her Instagram stories to share a picture of herself on an IV drip.

The 45 year old actress, who played Amanda Beckett on Corrie, wrote: "So…. Not the greatest of weekends…".

She posted her comment alongside the snap, where a hospital blanket and her arm could be seen as she was hooked up to the IV.

Hayley hasn't elaborated on the reason for her hospital stay, however OK! has contacted her reps for comment.

The actress is very recognisable on the soap circuit, as she played Delilah Dingle on Emmerdale from 2005 to 2007, and in Coronation Street a few years later, she portrayed Steve McDonald's schoolfriend Amanda Beckett from 2013 and 2015.

She's been a regular face on TV in other shows such as Soapstar Superstar and Soapstar Superchef, finishing runner-up in the former, and ultimately winning the latter, as well as Dancing on Ice in 2010, which she won alongside professional ice skater Daniel Whiston.

Hayley is mother to an almost-three-year-old son, Jasper, who she shares with her former fiancé Adrian, before they split in March of this year.

The actress shared a poignant post on her Instagram page for Mother's Day, as she explained she is now a single parent to her son Jasper.

In a selfie of he posing with her two year old son, the adorable mum and son duo smiled for the camera, as Hayley looked cool and casual in a cap with a grey hoodie, as her cute son wore a spotted mustard-yellow button-up sweatshirt that was lined with teddy bear fabric on the inside.

In the caption, Hayley wrote: "I’ve not posted in a long time, but I Thought today was a good time to tell you all, before you hear about it or see it elsewhere.

"This Mother’s Day is different for me, as I’m now a single mum.

"Mine and jaspers life has been turned upside down over the past few months.. but I realise the best thing to come out of this is jasper.

"For he is all I need.. and all I’ve ever wanted," the actress went on. "He makes me so happy!"

"I’m so lucky I get to be his mummy," the star said. "And I’m very proud of myself for overcoming the many obstacles I’ve faced since he was born.

"To any other single mamas out there.. I salute you. Have the most wonderful day!" Hayley added.
