Danniella Westbrook lies helpless in hospital bed as new pictures of surgery emerge

Daniella Westbrook has been photographed with a painful looking swollen face following her fifth round of facial reconstruction surgery.

The former EastEnders star, 49, jetted to Turkey earlier this month for her final facial surgery, as she looks to fix the damage to her face after years of substance abuse, which left her with a collapsed septum and her cheekbones beginning to break down.

Following her latest operation, Danniella shared images of herself with a swollen and bruised face, as well as photos taken in the hospital as she prepared for her surgery.

The actress can be seen sporting a blue hair net and a hospital gown as a surgeon maps out the operation in blue inkings across her face.

A second photo shows the former soap star, who played Sam Mitchell in EastEnders, lying in bed after her gruelling operation.

Danniella can be seen with an IV drip attached to the inside of her left arm and tape around her eyes, jaw and hairline. The actress is covered with blankets and has her eyes closed in the photograph.

Doctors aligned Danniella's nose and she 1,200 threads put into her face, along with fat grating on her chin.

She also had liposuction to remove fat from her body and place it into her cheeks and lips, and her jawline etched.

Danniella admitted she was "very fearful" before going under the knife, and even wrote up a will.

She told The Sun: "I was very fearful. My mum and my son Kai were on the phone constantly – I wrote up a will before I left and my son is the executor of that.

"But luckily I’m still here and I’ve come through the other side. Someone is looking over me."

Danniella's latest reconstruction surgery is believed to be her final one. She previously told how she had to search for somebody to perform the surgery, which she said she needed it "to survive".

She previously told The Sun: "I've spent the last seven years trying to get somebody to do it, but they said no in case it failed and they got struck off.

"Plastic surgeons wanted £500,000 to change my face, so I thought I was never going to get it done. It was only because I went into intensive care before Christmas last year.

"I couldn't breathe because I had a cold. There was a build up of fluid and after I fell asleep I couldn't wake up properly and ended up in ICU."
