Donald Trump has offered a tribute to Sir Sean Connery, claiming the James Bond actor stepped in to help him get a building development over the line for his golf course in Aberdeen.
The 007 icon died at the age of 90, surrounded by his family, with son Jason confirming the sad news on Saturday.
Following his death, the President shared his own memories of the late star, describing him as a ‘great man’.
Taking to Twitter, he began a tribute: ‘The legendary actor, 007 Sean Connery, has past on to even greener fairways. He was quite a guy, and a tough character.
‘I was having a very hard time getting approvals for a big development in Scotland when Sean stepped in and shouted,“Let him build the damn thing”.
‘That was all I needed, everything went swimmingly from there. He was so highly regarded & respected in Scotland and beyond that years of future turmoil was avoided.
‘Your were loved by the world, and will be missed,’ he concluded. ‘God bless, rest now, be at peace.’
