Former EastEnders star Rob Kazinsky has delighted fans on social media as he embarks on a gruelling fitness regime.
The 39 year old soap star first shot to fame in the BBC soap back in 2006, when he played the role of Albert Square heartthrob Sean Slater, initially enjoying a three year run on the show before heading off to pursue other projects, including roles in Hollywood smash hits Pacific Rim and Captain Marvel.
While starring on EastEnders, Rob was well known for his fresh looks and trademark mop of auburn hair, however since leaving the show the actor has undergone a major transformation – which included shaving off his hair.
Taking to Instagram to document his progress, the TV and film star revealed his plans to whip himself into shape ahead of his upcoming 40th birthday later this year.
Sharing a shirtless photo of himself, Rob promised to take his fans on his transformation journey over the next few weeks as he promised to inspire others and keep himself accountable during the gruelling challenge.
Alongside the image, Rob wrote: “You’re gonna be seeing a fair bit more activity over the next few months, and it’s the kind of activity and vanity I steadfastly avoid. Fitness S**t.”
He continued: “Here is day one, my starting off point. I weight 220lbs, I’m at 19.7% body fat. I turn 40 in a few months and one thing I’ve learned is that it’s getting harder and harder every single day to train and recover, I can’t do things like I did in my 20’s, so what’s the plan?”
Teasing fans with an upcoming big budget movie role, Rob hinted at another reason he was hoping to get into peak physical shape as he added: “I have a great job coming up if the strikes come to an end and I’ve decided to get into superhero shape, without drugs, without PEDs, without help, just a 40 year old fat b*****d making do with what I have still going for me.
“So we will start here as I figure this out. And we will do check ups, and updates and hopefully soon I’ll be able to tell you what it’s for.”
Fans were loving the candid way Rob was approaching his journey as they praised the star for his progress so far and shared their support with him for the weeks ahead.
One dedicated fan commented on his already impressive figure, writing: “Good luck you actually look great.”
While another gushed: “Gonna be rooting for you Rob. Get them gains and make some strides!”
A third follower then added: "More power to you @therobkazinsky – it takes a brave and dedicated man to embrace this journey publicly. You're amongst friends, and we've got you!"
