Emma Willis praised for 'breaking gender stereotypes' with picture of son Ace

Emma Willis has been praised by her fans for ‘breaking gender stereotypes’ with a picture of her son Ace.

The TV presenter shared the photo on Instagram of Ace, eight, stood in their kitchen at home with dad Matt Willis.

She praised him as a ‘style icon’ as he was dressed in a pink crop-top, ripped jeans and pink trainers. Matt meanwhile, dressed in a black hoodie, jeans and cap, was stood just behind him.

In the caption Emma said: #My little style icon (Ace, not Matt).’

Fans in the comments hit back at anyone who took issue with what a child is wearing, as one said: ‘Just shows how far we have to go in breaking down gender stereotypes. Pink is simply a colour. Hair grows. Let kids (or adults) wear whatever they want!’

‘Your son is an inspiration. Coming from a mummy of a son who loves pink, Rainbows and his Elsa dress. He is following his own story and not bound by stupid society stereotypes,’ another said.

‘Omg this could be my little boy! He’s totally alternative…. bracelets, ear cuffs, pink, teeny shorts when it’s freezing, pink, leopard and hair bands and buns! Makes me beam with pride that he’s so individual & clear on what he likes,’ another wrote.

One person said: ‘YES JEANS! Love them… Ace is literally STYLE PERSONIFIED’ while a further comment read: ‘Going to show this to my 10 year old boy who is loving life and living to his own best also! Go Ace!’

Some of the Big Brother presenter’s famous friends also cheered him on.

Spice Girls star Emma Bunton said: ‘Just gorgeous! We [love] Ace!’ and presenter Fearne Cotton joked: ‘I miss Ace! When is he making me that dress?’

Amanda Holden posted a heart emoji while presenter AJ Odudu said: ‘The level of style we can only aspire to!’

The 44-year-old seemed to have read the comments from her followers, as she posted an image on her Instagram Story that read: ‘Being different is a f*****g blessing’.

She added the word ‘This…’ and a red love heart.

Matt and Emma also share daughters Isabelle, 11, and Trixie, four.
