Coronation Street stars Alison King and Mikey North were spotted in the kind of clinch that could give the writers of the ITV soap a run for their money.
The pair were both guests at the raucous National Television Awards on Tuesday night in London’s O2 Arena where they rubbed shoulders with fellow stars of the small screen.
Married soap actor Mikey, 33, who wed actress Racheal Isherwood in 2016 and has two children with her, was reportedly seen looking very cosy with Alison, 46, who is set to wed 36-year-old IT manager and dad of two David Stuckley.
The Sun on Sunday have shared grainy videos and photographs of the pair sat together – recorded by a member of the public who was in the audience of the glitzy awards show.
The footing appears to throw the pair sitting together with Alison resting her head on Mikey’s shoulders – before the pair press their faces together – while the member of the public recording the soap stars can be heard gasping in disbelief.
“He’s just snogged her. He’s just kissed her,” the astonished bystander exclaims.
Meanwhile, other sources expressed disappointment at the couple – noting that Mikey became a father for a second time only a few months ago.
“He has a family and she’s engaged. It’s the last thing you expect to see,” the witness said.
“I was in the audience and Alison caught my eye because she looked like she’d had a few too many.
“She was waving her arms and looking rowdy. Then I noticed she started touching Mikey’s leg and before long they were holding hands."
The circumstances of the exchange may raise eyebrows of even the most devout soap fans as the stars were clearly surrounded by colleagues, co-stars, contemporaries and cameras at the award show.
Alison has played knicker factory worker Carla Connor on Coronation Street since 2006 – while Mikey has played businessman Gary Windass since 2008.
Mikey married Captain America bit-part actress Racheal, 34, in 2016 – and together they have a three-year-old son named Archie and welcomed a daughter, named Eliza, in September 2019.
The soap actor, who shuns social media, has gushed about his wife in the past – telling Closer magazine in 2015: "Rachael is the best thing that has ever happened to me – and I don't mind telling everybody! She’s changed my life for the better."
Alison announced her engagement to David in September 2019, telling OK! magazine that they hadn't originally planned to tie the knot after being match-made by their personal trainer.
"We'd also discussed marriage, too. I think we both went from: 'No, we don't ever need to get married, to, 'Oh, we really want to get married!'" she told OK! Magazine last year.
Alison has been engaged twice before; first to London's Burning actor Jim Alexander in 2006, before breaking off the engagement in 2007, and then to sound technician Adam Huckett in 2011, before splitting in 2012.
The Corrie actress welcomed a daughter with Adam in 2009 long before their split.
She has also previously dated Corrie star Philip Middlemiss (who played Des Barnes), soap actor Louis Emetic, Corrie sound technician Adam, and Hollyoaks assistant director Paul Slavin.
Mirror Online has contacted Alison and Mikey's reps for comment.
