The ‘Love and Hip Hop: New York’ star, who filed for divorce from her rapper husband in May, claims that she has been getting ‘dragged’ for not allowing him to be present for their child’s birth.
AceShowbiz –Erica Mena did not want anyone to dictate her what to do. The “Love & Hip Hop: New York” star, who has been dragged by haters after Safaree Samuels asked the court to let him witness their second child’s birth, urged the online trolls to give her some “peace.”
The 33-year-old TV personality slammed her critics via Instagram Story on Thursday, June 10. “Here I go getting dragged in the media and none of y’all even know the real story. Let me be pregnant and get through this time in peace,” she penned.
Erica’s snap came after Safaree allegedly requested support from a court to make sure he can be present at the birth of their second baby. “Safaree makes it clear he wants to witness his child’s birth, but firmly believes the only way he can assure that happens is for the court to step in and force Erica to allow it,” TMZ reported.
The estranged couple was also said to have been fighting over custody of their kids. While the expectant mom is asking for primary custody, the “No Regular Girl” spitter challenged her plea by requesting joint legal custody.
In the legal papers obtained by TMZ, it’s stated that the former boyfriend of Nicki Minaj is requesting consistent, uninterrupted parenting and visitation. He also believes that is in the best interest of the children.
Erica submitted the divorce papers on May 21. In her filing, she made it clear that she has “no hope of reconciliation” with Safaree because their marriage is “irretrievably broken.” She also noted that the two of them are currently living in a “bona fide state of separation.”
Erica and Safaree tied the knot in New Jersey in October 2019. At that time, they were already expecting their first child together. They welcomed baby Safire in February 2020.
