Gemma Owen doesnt mention Luca all day during Tatler interview

Gemma Owen has opened up on her life after finding fame on the hit ITV dating show Love Island in an interview with Tatler, but seemingly managed to avoid mentioning her boyfriend Luca Bish through it.

The 19 year old dressage rider formed a romantic connection with fishmonger Luca, 23, while in the Mallorcan villa in the summer of 2022 and the pair made it official shortly after returning home to the UK.

But now, Tatler has speculated their relationship may be on the back burner as throughout their time together at Gemma's mansion of Lower Soughton Hall in Cheshire, she neglected to even mention Luca's name once.

"…And she has no plans to move to Brighton. In fact, she doesn’t mention the L-word all day. Not ‘love’ – Luca. Is the fishmonger no longer the priority?" the publication questioned.

Despite this, Gemma shared some insight into her life in her manor house with famous footballer dad Michael, 42, mum Louise Bonsall, 41, and her siblings James, 16, Emily, 14, and 12 year old Jessica.

"I’d like to say I set a good example," Gemma explained, adding: "I wasn’t very naughty when I was a kid. I’m quite sensible. I’ve never been one to go out and party. That’s probably because of my riding; I’ve not really had the time."

But being the daughter of a famous footballer hasn't come without its challenges as she recalled older horse riders making rude comments to her at just 11 years old, when she took part in training camps in Gloucestershire.

She said: "There were a lot of classic not-very-nice comments, bringing Dad into it. You know, 'Oh, Daddy got you a nice horse, so that’s why you’re here.'

"I really had to prove myself as a rider. I focused on competing and doing well."

Gemma, who recently walked the red carpet with Luca at the Pride of Britain awards, has come a long way since then as she was one of four people selected to be selected for the European Junior Championships last year.

And aside from her competitive dressage hobby, Gemma has made a name for herself through her brand OG Beachwear while also signing a six figure deal with PrettyLittleThing.

Prior to the announcement, Gemma had teased "so many opportunities" coming her way – despite missing out on the £50,000 prize on Love Island.

Sitting in the back of a car as she waited for her other half on 11 August, she told her fans: "So Luca's just in a meeting, I'm waiting in the car all by myself being a supportive girl.

“I've had an amazing couple of days, yesterday was so exciting, so many opportunities, can't wait.”
