Harry and Meghan make low-key appearance at A-list pals star-studded vow renewal

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been seen together for the first time since the Duke of Sussex released his tell-all memoir last month, which saw him deepen the rift between the couple and the rest of the Royal Family.

Since the publication of her husband's book Meghan, 41, had been keeping a relatively low profile, while he took part in a number of UK and US television interviews.

But the couple have finally been seen together again as they attended 50 year old actress Portia De Rossi's birthday party, which included a surprise vow renewal with her wife US talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres, 65.

The star-studded bash was held at at Portia and Ellen's $70million Montecito mansion, which is just a stone's throw away from Meghan and Harry's own home.

The vow renewal, which came as surprise to Ellen, was officiated by the couple's pal Kris Jenner, and featured a performance by Brandi Carlile.

In a video posted to The Ellen Show's YouTube channel, Harry, 38, and Meghan can briefly be seen celebrating after the ceremony.

The royal couple were seen standing on opposite sides of the group of celebrants, as they all whooped and cheered at the ceremony's end.

The Prince appeared to be sporting a formal black suit and white shirt, while Meghan donned a beige coloured dress.

Harry and Meghan have been close friends with Ellen and Portia for a few years now, with Meghan appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2021.

The Sussexes attendance at Portia's A-list birthday bash, comes just after they were claimed to have been "exiled" by their US pals after they were noticeably absent from Oprah Winfrey's birthday party.

The Spectator columnist Kara Kennedy argued that such “snubs” indicate that the “tide is turning with the Sussexes".

She wrote: "Snubs like this show that the tide is turning with the Sussexes – and that the gamble that saw them trade in the lifelong duty of being working royalty for the money and fame of being celebrities hasn’t paid off."

In her article, Kara quoted a Hollywood insider, who had told her: "The Sussexes equal drama. Everybody over here is starting to realise that they never intended on having a quiet life."

It comes as questions continue to arise surrounding the Sussexes attendance and King Charles III's coronation later this year, as the monarch is said to be hoping his son and daughter-in-law will attend the momentous occasion.

The King, 74, has reportedly tasked the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, with brokering a deal to allow his youngest son to attend the ceremony.
