Sitting alongside Matt LeBlanc, Matthew answered questions in anticipation of the long-awaited reunion.
However, the star’s slow speech, which appeared to be slightly slurred, sparked concern amongst fans of the hit show.
Compared to his co-stars, the actor only spoke a handful of times.
Taking to Twitter, fans of the show relayed their concerns about the actor, who has in the past shared his battle with his addiction struggles.
One wrote: “I am disconcerted by the lack of speaking appearances Matthew Perry makes in the Friends reunion trailer & the People interview video.
“How much did they have to cut around?” they added.
Another penned: “Just saw People interview and can’t believe how Matthew Perry looks like… seriously it breaks my heart.” (sic)
A third commented saying that it “pained” her to watch the star speak so “slowly.”
The social media user wrote: “I know everyone is thinking about it but few are talking publicly about it.
“It pains me to see Matthew Perry like this, he just seems off, gazing at the void, speaking slowly…” (sic)
One Twitter user revealed that he was “concerned” for the Friends actor following his appearance in the promo video.
“Is Matthew Perry OK? Concerning. Hoping for the best for him”, they added.
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Matthew for comment.
During the nearly eight-minute long clip, the star spoke only a couple of times, compared to David and Matt, who both gave lengthy answers to the three questions that were posed to them.
When asked when they were most grateful to be friends with each other between now and the series finale airing, David took the reins and answered for the three men.
“I think over the years we’ve all struggled with different obstacles and challenges and I think at those times it’s been nice to be able to reach out and touch base and have a call”, he said.
Jumping on his co-star’s answer, Matthew added: “While being a really close-knit group, we don’t see each other all six of us a lot.”
Additionally, when the cast was asked if they had ever stolen souvenirs from the set, Matt admitted to taking a memento for friend Lisa.
“I stole the cookie jar that had the clock on it and I gave it to Lisa Kudrow, because she at one point looked at it and thought it was a real clock”, he explained, slowly.
The star has previously spoken about his addiction struggles, telling People magazine that things got “out of control” following a jet-ski accident in 1997 which left him addicted to a painkiller.
Speaking to BBC Radio 2 five years ago, the actor said he had been “a little out of it” while filming parts of Friends.
“I don’t remember three years of [the show],” he said. “Somewhere between Seasons 3 and 6 … I was a little out of it.”
