Reflecting on her past relationship with her ex-husband, the ‘America’s Got Talent’ judge says she once believed that doing vows renewal every year ‘would be a fest of love.’
AceShowbiz –Heidi Klum‘s marriage to Seal ended in a divorce, but it’s not like she wasn’t trying to save it. In a new interview, the “America’s Got Talent” judge admitted that renewing her vows with her ex-husband every year “doesn’t work” to save their marriage.
“I think I got married eight times to Seal,” the 48-year-old beauty said during an interview with the Sunday Times published on Sunday, July 4. The former Victoria’s Secret angel revealed, “I thought it would be kind of, like, fun. I thought it would be a fest of love. But you know, that doesn’t work either. I tried, you can’t say I didn’t try!”
Heidi went on to admit that over time she began to lose faith in the repeat ceremonies. “Like, ‘This is really not working.’ But I tried,” the former catwalk beauty confessed. The former spouses then decided to go separate ways in 2012 after seven years of marriage. Two years later, the exes finalized their divorce. The two share four children, 17-year-old Leni, 15-year-old Henry, 14-year-old Johan and 11-year-old Lou. Leni, whose biological father is Flavio Briatore, was adopted by her 58-year-old ex-husband.
Nearly one decade after calling her marriage off, Heidi spilled that she still figured things out about co-parenting her kids with her ex-husband. “It could be easier sometimes, but everyone is healthy and that’s the most important thing,” the “Germany’s Next Top Model” host said on Sunday. “Everything else can be figured out.”
In an interview with Red magazine in 2020, Heidi said that co-parenting with Seal isn’t always “rosy.” The supermodel, who is now married to Tom Kaulitz, revealed, “Sometimes it’s hard, but then you have to all come together as a family and sometimes everything is just like hopping on clouds.” She added, “It’s just the way it is.”
In 2015, Seal himself had addressed the vow renewals during an interview with Andy Cohen on the SiriusXM radio show “Radio Andy”. At the time, the “Kiss From a Rose” singer opened up, “That was my ex-wife’s idea, to be honest.” Noting that he “disliked” that the ceremonies were publicized, he added, “It kind of turned into a little bit of a circus, which I wasn’t terribly fond of because, by default, I’m quite a private person.”
