Roman Banks is heading out on tour in a major role later this year!
The 24-year-old actor has landed the lead in the upcoming national Broadway tour of MJ the Musical, where he will be playing the late Michael Jackson.

“I am extremely excited that the incredibly talented Roman Banks will soon be dazzling audiences across America as Michael Jackson in MJ,” director and choreographer Christopher Wheeldon shared in a statement. “Roman is a stunning performer, and we are lucky to have him leading the company on our first national tour.”

Elijah Rhea Johnson is currently starring as MJ on Broadway, following original star Myles Frost‘s exit from the musical, for which he won a Tony award for Best Actor in a Musical.
Roman previously appeared in a recurring role on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series as Howie, and he also made history in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway, becoming the first Black Evan Hansen.
