Inside Jamie Oliver’s cosy £6m country house where he’s self-isolating

Jamie Oliver has been keeping us happy and well-fed during lockdown with his brilliant two-recipe meals, whipped up from the comfort of his own home.

As the UK continues to combat the coronavirus pandemic, Jamie, 44, has been making sure we get the best out of all the ingredients in our kitchen so our groceries last much longer.

And while he’s been sharing his quick tips with the nation, it’s been difficult not to have a little look around his kitchen.

Let’s face it, we’re all staying indoors for the foreseeable future so any home interior inspiration is welcome.

As for Jamie’s property portfolio, it’s pretty impressive and extensive.

The TV chef previously resided in a large Grade II listed mansion in Hampstead Heath, north London, with his wife Jools and their children Poppy, 18, Daisy, 16, Petal, 10, Buddy, nine and River, three.

Boasting seven bedrooms, an idyllic back garden and a huge playroom for the kids, complete with an indoor treehouse, the property was worth an estimated £8.9 million.

But the Olivers set their sights on something bigger last year.

Jamie and Jools bought a 16th century mansion in Essex for £6 million and it’s certainly an upgrade.

Sitting on 70 acres in the quaint village of Finchingfield, the property boasts seven bedrooms and hadn’t been sold for 250 years until Jamie bought it.

The Tudor mansion also includes stables, where Jamie was reportedly hoping to film his cooking shows and masterclasses, and is surrounded by fishing lakes.

The TV star’s brood of children will no doubt make use of the swimming pool, trampoline and five-a-side football pitch which was built shortly before the family moved in and made it their home.

Renovations might not be over though as Jamie is also said to have plans to redo the library and kitchen, as well as adding an underfloor heating system in the pantry.

The sprawling property may look a little familiar as it was regularly used for filming The Only Way Is Essex between 2012 and 2014. Former Towie stars Lauren Goodger, Lucy Mecklenburgh and Joey Essex are among the stars who featured in scenes shot at the mansion.

Looking at the size of their garden, it looks like the perfect place to enjoy a (self-isolated) crisp country walk.
