Celebrity TV chef James Martin has sparked concerns for his health, after sharing that he was in hospital getting an MRI scan and that he will need an operation.
The 55 year old star shared a post to Instagram, in which he revealed that his dog, Ralph, was also getting an operation, as he posted a snap of the pooch and a shot of the MRI Suite sign in the hospital.
He captioned the post: "Seems as if we are both getting old fella! Dropped him off for an op this morning, now it seems I need one."
The Saturday Kitchen star didn't disclose what was actually wrong with him, but naturally his post sparked concern amongst his fans, who rushed to post their well-wishes in the comments section.
One person wrote: "Hope it’s nothing serious for either of you James," whilst another commented: "MRI??? Ohh blimey. Is that for you or Ralph. What’s going on???"
A third wrote: "Hope nothing too serious for both of you," as a fourth penned: "Goodness. Hope it’s not too serious for either of you."
James himself added a new comment to the post as he thanked fans for their well-wishes, although he added more fuel to the fire as he said "we will see" about his undisclosed health issues.
His comment read: "Thank you for all your messages, very kind. Ralph is ok and out and on the mend cheers. Me on the other hand well we will see."
James recently opened up about his dramatic three-stone weight loss, as he told the panel on Loose Women that it was all down to giving up fizzy drinks.
He said: "I don't drink tea or coffee so fizzy drinks were always sort of my nemesis really and in the kitchen particularly.
"The minute I swapped to water, it was nearly three stone."
James has enjoyed an illustrious career as a TV chef, working on both BBC and ITV, and he's perhaps best known for fronting the BBC cookery series Saturday Kitchen from 2006 until 2016, before leaving the BBC.
He now presents James Martin's Saturday Mornings on ITV, and hosts regular cooking segments on the channel's flagship daytime show, This Morning.
James has been in a long-term relationship with his PA partner, Louise Davies, for seven years, and the pair live together in a seven-bedroomed detached country home in Hampshire.
The pair had first been linked back in 2011, but it wasn't until 2016 that they were revealed to be in a relationship.
Later, during an appearance on Good Morning Britain in 2017, the chef couldn't keep the compliments from flowing as he said he was "happy for the first time in his life."
