Motherhood has been a journey for Jennifer Lawrence and she’s being honest about it. Back in April 2022, People confirmed that the actor welcomed her son with husband Cooke Maroney, their first child together. She later revealed his name, Cy, in her Vogue October 2022 cover story. According to the actor, her son is named after postwar American painter Cy Twombly, one of Maroney’s — who’s also an art-gallery director — favorite artists. But that’s not the only fun fact we’ve learned about Lawrence’s little one.
The Oscar winner told E! News that she’s convinced “he’ll love ‘The Hunger Games'” when she shows it to him one day. But she’s definitely straying away from letting him watch her raunchy R-rated comedy, “No Hard Feelings,” in the near future. “I don’t think he’ll want to [watch],” Lawrence joked. “I don’t worry about him pushing play on that.”
So far as a mom, Lawrence told E! News that parenthood hasn’t really affected which onscreen roles she pursues nowadays. “I don’t think so,” she added in her interview published on June 10. “Only in the sense of, like, when I’m doing something or how much I’m doing has that kind of changed.”
Prior to that, Lawrence spoke to fellow actor Viola Davis for Variety’s “Actors on Actors” Dec. 7, 2022, episode, during which the two bonded over their shared experiences as parents. After discussing her emotional film “Causeway,” which premiered on Sept. 10, 2022, Lawrence delved into her decision to start a family, noting that she was “so scared that I would f*ck it up” at first.
“Every day of being a mom, I feel awful. I feel guilty,” she told Davis. “I’m playing with [my son] and I’m like, ‘Is this what he wants to be doing? Should we be outside? We’re outside. What if he’s cold? What if he’s going to get sick? Should we be inside? Is this enough? Is this developing your brain enough?'”
