Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are the only Kardashian/Jenner couple still together. Khloe and Tristan Thompson have broken up, as have Kylie and Travis Scott. Both of Kim’s sisters now must navigate the complicated landscape of co-parenting with an ex.
Kourtney is in the same boat. She has been separated from her children’s father, Scott Disick, for a few years now. As we’ve seen this season on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, they don’t always get along. Kourtney tries to make it work, and includes Disick in family activities whenever possible. She even invites his girlfriend Sofia Richie along on family trips, but she and Disick still fight.
Kim is the only Kardashian/Jenner sister who has been spared those kinds of issued with exes. Hopefully she and Kanye will live happily ever after, but a recent fight they had on an episode of KUWTK has us wondering if there’s trouble in paradise.
Kim and Kanye fought over a dress
Specifically, the fight was over the dress that Kardashian wore to the Met Gala.
Kanye felt the dress was too sexy. He wondered why his wife needed to wear a dress like that, and commented, “it’s hot, for who though?” Kardashian tried to shut down the argument, but Kanye kept going. “You are my wife and it affects me when pictures are too sexy.”
After eight months of planning, Kardashian was hardly about to change her dress the night before the gala.
Kim’s dress was very tight
To say this thing was skin-tight is an understatement. It was actually literally tighter than her skin. The corset left Kim with indentations in her back and hips. She couldn’t sit down, or go to the bathroom in it.
Let us remind you, she wore this dress to a gala, where dinner was being served. She knew she wouldn’t be able to even sit and eat. Even though we don’t agree with Kanye expressing his issues with the dress the night before the gala, we also have to wonder, who is it for?
The dress seemed far more trouble than it was worth. It caused Kardashian a ton of pain, and she even had to take special breathing lessons because the corset was so tight. She says she felt a ton of anxiety about the event, and it was at a stressful time in her life, so why not wear a slightly more comfortable dress?
Stress was likely at the root of it all

Hopefully the argument between Kardashian and Kanye was a result of the stress they were both under. Their fourth child, Psalm, was due the same week as the Met Gala. The surrogate they hired to carry Psalm was in LA, and they had to fly out of state to the gala. Kardashian was terrified that she would miss the birth.
It’s likely both she and Kanye were worried about Psalm’s arrival. Change can be hard.
Kanye is going through a transformation
Speaking of change, Kanye is changing. A lot. He’s becoming more spiritual, and even hosts his own religious service, which he calls Sunday Service. He doesn’t see things the way he used to, and it seems like he expects Kardashian to be on board.
During their spat, he said “I went through this transition where being a rapper, looking at all these girls and looking at my wife, like, ‘Oh my girl needs to be just like the other girls showing their body off.’ I didn’t realize that that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone who is married and the father of now … about to be four kids.”
Kardashian made it clear that she’s not in the same place, replying “just because you’re on a journey and transformation doesn’t mean I’m in the same spot with you.”
That could spell trouble for their relationship. If Kanye is changing, and Kardashian stays the same, it’s likely their differences in opinion will only get worse.
