Lauren Goodger explains why she broke lockdown rules twice after being slammed for attending birthday party — EXCLUSIVE

Lauren Goodger has explained why she broke lockdown rules twice in an exclusive chat with OK! online.

The 33 year old took to our Instagram page to take part in a live interview, where she was quizzed on celebrity crushes, her famous neighbours, and allegations she had ignored the lockdown guidelines.

Lauren has been spotted with friends not once, but twice since Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated friends and families were not allowed to meet due to the coronavirus outbreak sweeping the globe.

But the former The Only Way Is Essex star was seen partying with pals before lockdown rules changed so that you were allowed to see six people if you continued to socially distance.

She explained: "I think what happened was, obviously we all these weeks didn't we where we were on serious lockdown, nobody put a step wrong, I was in lockdown for 10 weeks.

"I was good as gold, doing whatever, then I was confused because Boris did the speech on the Sunday, I don't really watch any of the news or take any notice because I just don't like to.

"So I then was told you're allowed to have your friends over now and you're allowed to start seeing people. I was actually told it was up to eight people.

"I was only indoors, I had a few drinks and I had a fantastic time. Everyone was like 'you're breaking lockdown' and I was like 'excuse me, everyone's on the beach, everybody's going back to work, I'm seeing constant groups of people together everywhere, I've been good as gold all this time'."

"I'll put my hands up, I was like 'oh my God, I need to take note of the guidelines' but I was just so confused with the change of rules, that's genuinely the honest truth.

"[Boris] was like, 'go to work if you can, go here if you need to,' so we were like one foot in the door and one foot out, but everyone I had seen had been isolating as well, nobody had been unwell so we were safe and, touch wood, I've been fine."

Lauren was later criticised for attending a child's birthday party just days after she first broke the lockdown rules, and was criticised when she later took to Instagram to say: "Wish I could have been there," with many believe she was pretending she hadn't attended the bash.

She continued to tell us: "I had a family three year old birthday party, it was in the garden. But the rules now were that you were allowed to meet six people in the garden, and this was in the garden. It only went inside for the cake.

"I posted 'wish I was there' because I didn't stay the whole time, I wasn't there for long. I wasn't like 'nobody take a photo of me,' I let people post their things.

"Everyone was separated, everyone was in the garden apart from to do the cake and these people have been so good to me, like family, I felt so bad, they were like 'please pop in and see us', I was there literally for an hour, if that.

"I had my videos, I posted 'wish I was there' because I'd already left. I'm not the only one [breaking the rules], I'm going out of my mind, for my sanity let me have a break."
