Lily Allen hasn't touched drink or drugs for a year-and-a-half – and even got a keyring to remind her of the impressive achievement.

The singing star, 35, refuses to hide away from her challenging past.

She was hooked on drugs, booze and cigarettes for years but now she is living a totally clean lifestyle.

The star speaks candidly about her previous experiences and says she has been happily sober since the summer of 2019.

She collected her motivational keyring from Narcotics Anonymous, and it reads: "Clean & Serene for eighteen months."

Lily posted a selfie on Instagram and poked her tongue out at the camera.

The Smile singer captioned the shot: "18 months clean and sober today. Would recommend!"

The star is on the mend as she puts children Ethel, nine, and Marnie, eight, first.

Her alcohol problem turned serious while touring with Miley Cyrus in 2014 but two years ago she decided to get to the bottom of her issues once and for all.

"About six months after my youngest was born we ran out of money and I had to go back out on the road again, but I was 14 stone and did not feel like a pop star at all," she told The Recovery Podcast last year.

"I started taking a drug which is like speed to lose the weight and I got addicted to this drug because it made me feel invincible.

"Then I ended up on tour in America supporting Miley Cyrus. It was when she was doing Wrecking Ball – it was a highly sexualised tour.

"I had just spent the last three years pushing babies out. It couldn't have been less what I felt like.

"I was supporting this girl who was much younger and more attractive than I felt. I just started acting out in all manner of ways."

Things turned toxic for the singer before she confronted her demons.

"I started cheating on my husband and I had always drunk alcohol to take the edge off the drugs." she added.

"I was thinking, 'I think I have got a drinking problem. And none of this acting out is working any more. Maybe I should try heroin… I had seen what happens to people who use heroin.

"When that thought popped into my head it was time to confront my demons."

Lily is now happily married to Stranger Things star David Harbour.
