‘Love and Hip Hop’ Star Mendeecees Harris Celebrates Prison Release by Throwing Out Jail Clothes

Yandy Smith can’t hide her happiness to be reunited with her husband after he served four years in prison as she’s seen dancing in a car with Mendeecees sitting next to her in an Instagram video.

AceShowbiz -Former “Love & Hip Hop: New York” cast member Mendeecees Harris is a free man now. He was released from prison on Wednesday, January 29 after spending four years behind bars on drug charges.

Sharing the good news was his wife Yandy Smith, who posted a video of her finally being reunited with the 41-year-old Harlem native. In the video, Yandy accompanied Mendeecees who stepped out of a car to throw his jail clothes into a trash can. “Never going [email protected],” she captioned it, adding a praying hands emoji.

In another clip posted on Mendeecees’ Instagram Stories, Yandy was seen dancing excitedly to “Ballin” by DJ Mustard and Roddy Ricch with her husband sitting next to her in a car.

His fans and friends have also been celebrating his release, with one writing in the comment section of Yandy’s post, “Welcome home fam.” Another wrote, “So happy for you!” Fellow “Love & Hip Hop” star Safaree Samuels chimed in, “YESSSSSIRRRRR!! GOD IS GOOD.”

Mendeecees plead guilty to drug trafficking in December 2015, months after he married Yandy in May of the same year. In 2016, he was sentenced to 8 to 10 years in prison and began his sentence in January of the same year. Before surrendering, Mendeecees said his “see you later’s” to his family in an emotional moment captured on the VH1 reality series.

Later, however, Yandy admitted that her televised wedding was “symbolic” and that her marriage to Mendeecees is not legal. The couple has two children together, Omere and Sylar. Mendeecees is also a father to two children from previous relationships, Lil Mendeecees, born to Samantha Wallace on October 9, 2005, and Aasim, born to Erika DeShazo on September 7, 2011.
