Love Is Blind star Jessica Batten has delightedly announced her engagement to Benjamin McGrath after a year and a half of dating.
The 34 year old reality star is most famously known for rejecting her former fiancé Mark Cuevas at the altar during the popular Netflix dating series, which kept viewers entertained at the start of the coronavirus pandemic last year.
And while she copped significant backlash for her televised actions at the time, Jess proved that it was all for a good reason as she is now set to wed the man of her dreams.
Revealing the news first to People, the Illinois native revealed that California-based foot and ankle surgeon Benjamin proposed at the swanky Akash Winery in Temecula, California, surrounded by friends and family.
"Excited" Jess admitted she has been "floating on cloud nine" since the big day and detailed the proposal to the publication.
She revealed that her dad had planned on being in town that weekend, but he changed his itinerary at the last minute and later said he would plan dinner for the family.
"I didn't think too much about it. Then Friday came, and Ben said, 'Hey, I ran late in surgery and hit traffic, can you just meet me at this winery? We're having dinner there.'"
Jess admitted that she soon realised her dad was "prolonging things", and now looking back, she noted it was because Ben was still setting up the romantic proposal.
When they arrived, they were greeted by a woman, and Jess thought they were getting a wine tour as they made their way down an arch with roses everywhere.
"Ben was standing there, and I pretty much knew at that point what was happening. So I just started getting overwhelmed with emotion. When I walked down, the first thing he said was, 'I want you to remember this moment for the rest of your life.'"
After Ben got down on one knee, Jess said she was "totally overwhelmed" and recited a line from the show Suits, which they watched together in lockdown, instead of saying yes.
Speaking previously about her romance with Ben to OK!, Jessica said: "I just feel blessed to have found someone who makes every day a little better."
