The MCU project might’ve only been made official last month, but we now have our first peek at some of The Eternals’ key players.
We’re not talking about Richard Madden’s particle-manipulating Ikaris though, or Angelina Jolie’s heroic Thena, here we’re given a look at the creators of these characters: the Celestials.
And wow, they’re pretty tall!

Thanks to Marvel Studios’ senior visual development concept artist Rodney Fuentebella, eager fans can enjoy the colossal splendor of the Celestials, who in this concept imagery look like a cross between Groot and a cyborg.
He wrote on Instagram: “Here is the Marvel’s Eternals poster I did for the San Diego Comic-Con 2019. This was an exclusive poster given out on Sunday at the event. I cannot believe I was able to do this poster for @sdcc_2019 !! Thanks to @marvelstudios and @ryan_meinerding_art for letting me paint this poster.

Previously teasing next year’s cosmic epic, Marvel boss Kevin Feige explained: “Eternals are one group, but we like the idea of introducing an ensemble, doing an ensemble movie from the start, as opposed to building up as we did with the first Avengers.
“More like Guardians, not tonally, but in terms of introducing a new group of people. Jack Kirby did an immense, amazing epic with Eternals that spans tens of thousands of years, and that’s also something we haven’t really done, which is why that among many other things post-Endgame, we find appealing.”
