The Countryfile presenter compiled a selection of his favourite dances in the short Instagram clip.

This included some of his best flips as well as his beloved performance as Austin Powers.

At one point in the video, head judge Len Goodman can be heard issuing some criticism to the dancer.

He said: “I wasn’t too keen on those flip flops at the end, they had nothing to do with the Samba.”

Matt’s wife Nicola was one of the first to post in response to his video, defending her husband over the criticism.

She penned below to Matt: “I loved the ‘flip-flops.’”

The presenter then responded to his wife with several flip-flop emojis.

Alongside Nicola, Matt’s mother also shared her support for the “flip-flops”.

She wrote: “One of the most nerve raking weeks of our lives for your Dad & I – but we loved it especially the [flip-flop emoji]” (sic)
