Gonna go ahead and interrupt your Saturday night schedule of partying Netflix with a quick update about Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter: they’ve broken up. People reports that the pair—who went public with their relationship on August 11 when they were spotted making out on vacation—have split following just over a month of dating.
“Miley and Kaitlyn broke up,” a source tells the magazine. “They’re still friends. They’ve been friends forever and were there for each other when they were both getting separated, but they’re just not in a romantic relationship anymore.”
Miley and Kaitlynn were most recently spotted together in Los Angeles last weekend after what can only be described as a whirlwind romance. They went public with their relationship on the same day Miley’s rep announced her split from Liam Hemsworth, and Kaitlynn was by Miley’s side (er, backstage) when she performed her emotional breakup song “Slide Away” at the VMAs. On top of that, a source told People in early September that Miley and Kaitlynn were living together, saying, “They live together and are very happy. Miley is doing great. She is moving on. She seems to have no regrets. She loves being with Kaitlynn.”
Another source at the time added, “Miley is very close with Kaitlynn. It’s romantic but also a friendship. They are both going through similar stuff right now and are bonding over it.”
Sad they’re over, but at least they’re still friends?
