Monty Don, who has been the lead presenter on BBC’s Gardeners’ World since 2003, regularly keeps fans entertained with his extensive horticultural knowledge. The gardening expert, who also owned a jewellery business, works as a presenter, writer and entrepreneur.
The 65-year-old is clearly passionate about his work and recently released two books, My Garden World and American Gardens.
Monty was forced to halt recording the audiobook as he was unable to record in a studio due to the coronavirus pandemic.
At the time, it had also impacted the release of his new books which were released in September.
The BBC favourite has since taken to Twitter and shared some exciting news which received a big reaction from his fans.
In view of his 223,000 followers, the gardening expert was inundated with support in his latest move away from Gardeners’ World.
Monty penned: “Having been delayed by a year due to Covid I am off today (and for the next four days) to a studio to read ‘My Garden World’ as an audiobook.”
Fans flocked to comment on the post, as readers said they were excited to purchase the audio version of My Garden World.
One wrote: “I hope you will enjoy doing it. I know we will enjoy having it. Do be careful.”
Another said: “I’m currently reading it and loving it but listening to you reading it would be even better.”
“I think it is your best book. I was sorry to finish it, so I started it over again. Captures the garden and the land where you live and work, beautifully,” a third remarked.
A fourth added: “Music to our ears Monty. Having eyesight problems myself at the moment.”
Elsewhere, the Gardeners’ World host was cheekily branded “harsh” by a viewer after Monty corrected a social media user’s error.

A fan shared a photo of their beloved cross style earrings made in what appeared to be jade and gold.
They typed: “Hello @TheMontyDon. You made these earrings for me in about 1977? Thank you, they are still going strong.” (sic)
Monty replied: “I am afraid I did not – we started making jewellery in 1981.”
But his response was deemed brutal, as another social media user commented: “Bit harsh Mr D.”
Monty clarified he was not being “harsh” but was instead helping the fan to credit the jeweller who actually made the earrings.
He hit back: “No, simply correcting misattribution – someone’s else’s work.”
Following the closure of the business, Monty published his first book The Jewel Garden.
Gardeners’ World airs on BBC Two at 9pm.
