Naga Munchetty, 45, isn’t afraid to say it how it is and that’s why BBC Breakfast viewers love her! The no-nonsense presenter gets to the point and speaks her mind.

Think about what you tweet before you write

So when a bitter viewer commented on her appearance on Thursday morning’s BBC Breakfast, she didn’t hesitate to put them in their place.

The heated exchange went down on Twitter, where Naga graciously tore a strip off the troll.

In the tweet which has since been deleted, the user known as “Paul” took a disliking to what she was wearing.

“Again you look like you’re dressed to meet a friend at a pub,” they wrote.

“If your co-presenter has to wear a suit, leather shoes and socks you could also wear a suit and tights not the get up you are in.”

The viewer’s outspoken remarks garnered much attention but even more so when Naga hit back.

She said: “Paul – Three suggestions: 1. Add a picture of yourself to your Twitter profile.

“2. Think about what you Tweet before you write.

“3. I’ll leave you to guess this one.”

Her powerful words were applauded by many, who rushed to the comments section to cheer her on.

Among those sharing their thoughts on the comments, her co-star Dan Walker seemed flabbergasted at Paul’s comments.

“Oh Paul,” he said alongside an exploding head emoji.

“Don’t be that bloke.”

Others agreed: “What a vile man! You always look lovely and professional Naga. I did always wonder why men have to wear suits though. So boring.”

A second added: “This is ridiculous isn’t it? I don’t understand someone like this at all. Women must dress for themselves and not to conform to the rigid expectations of a male dominated world.”

“For goodness sake. Naga is there to inform us every day. What she wears is no concern to any of us. You have fingers. Switch off if you aren’t happy,” a third snapped.

The criticism came as a bit of shock to some viewers, as the BBC presenter is constantly complimented on her morning attire from fans eager to cop the look for themselves.

But this isn’t the first time Naga has been picked up on what she wears on TV.

Back in April, she was accosted by a male viewer who deemed it was inappropriate for her to be wearing boot heels on-air.

The viewer in question wrote: “I’m not known for my own sartorial elegance but why would anyone like Naga Munchetty feel the need to wear high-heeled shoes like these on a BBC TV breakfast news programme? Discuss…”

Many took offence to the backwards approach of thinking and Naga totally shut down the conversation with a single, powerful statement.

“Because I want to,” she replied.

The tweet received over 300,000 interactions from users who applauded her once again for speaking her mind on such issues.

BBC Breakfast continues weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
