Looks like Prince Harry and Prince William are trying to repair their strained relationship ahead of their grandmother the Queen’s upcoming Platinum Jubilee. The Mirror reports that the brothers, who have been dealing with tension for approximately 84 years, have been texting regularly and holding weekly FaceTimes with their kids “which has allowed them to re-bond.”
Oh, and apparently Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have “held back” from joining the calls to give their husbands time to fix things.
“The brothers needed time for everything to settle down,” a source said. “The family, including William, had been disappointed in the way Harry and Meghan chose to leave the royal family.” The source added that “William sees that Meghan is a good mother and loyal wife and he is genuinely pleased for his brother. It seems that the two of them have healed the rift and are very much back on their old buddy terms. Meghan’s distance from Kate has also helped heal the friction [between] the two men.”
Meghan and Harry will be hosting a small birthday party for their daughter Lilibet while they are in England, which unfortunately William and Kate will not be able to attend due to Jubilee commitments in Wales. But Her Majesty the Queen is expected to be there, and will finally get a chance to meet Meghan and Harry’s daughter for the first time (a huge moment considering Lilibet is named after her!). Oh, and Prince Charles will also meet his granddaughter Lilibet for the first time on this trip.
Obviously, Lili’s party will be behind closed doors, but Meghan and Harry will be making multiple appearances during the Jubilee weekend. TBD on if their kids join!
