Prince William and wife Kate Middleton have been out and about completing a string of engagements today.
And according to body language expert Derek Heron, the couple are looking relaxed in each other's company after recently celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary.
The royal couple carried out official engagements in Wolverhampton to make Mental Health Awareness week, visiting three local organisations that support young people with their mental health and wellbeing.
In one photo of the Duke and Duchess can be seen mirroring each other's body language as they sat aside one another. "William and Kate are mirroring one another to a considerable degree," body language expert Derek Heron explains, "right down to the slight tilt of the head, amazing."
Derek adds that this is a "great sign" for the couple. He adds: "it's an indication of rapport, they are definitely on the same wavelength and are in an emotionally strong relationship. They are very much in tune with one another…. Both William and Kate are leaning in slightly, showing an interest in the topic being discussed. Their eyes are focused on the speaker."
Another shot shows the couple smiling as they spent time tending to pots filled with flowers. According to Derek, the royals seemed very relaxed in each other's company.
"Both Kate and William are displaying relaxed postures although Kate appears more at home with plants than William," Derek explains.
The expert adds: "Kate is presenting a wonderfully natural open smile and her eyes are smiling to, she’s genuinely enjoying herself, comfortable and relaxed. "
When it came to William's body language, Derek added: "William is smiling and although engaged in the activity a little less so than Kate."
Derek concluded: "The couple’s bodies are both angled slightly towards one another, again a sign that the are still enjoying a strong loving relationship, very much in tune with each other."
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited three sites in Wolverhampton today. The first was The Way Wolverhampton Youth Zone, a local organisation that inspires young people to transform their lives. The Duke and Duchess joined a group of young people who use The Way’s services as they took part in a number of wellbeing sessions and met a group of HeadStart ambassadors.
Next, the royals stopped by Base25, a city-centre charity that helps young people who have difficulty accessing mainstream services. The couple heard from a number of young people who have used the service to hear about its vital support.
Finally, the travelled to HugglePets in the Community, a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2018 which uses Animal Assisted Therapy to help children with SEN disabilities or those experiencing mental health challenges engage with therapy and wellbeing activities.
The couple were spotted playing archery during their visits today, letting their competitive side shine through.
The Duchess of Cambridge sported a polka dot blouse and black trousers for the occasion, keeping away the chill with a long navy coat.
