Prince William reveals George, 8, loves gaming but he and Kate are ‘careful of screen time

Prince William has shared how Prince George “loves gaming” but that he tries to regulate screen time as its “something you have to be careful about”

The Duke of Cambridge, 39, made the admission during a visit to the headquarters of BAFTA, which the Duke is president of, in London on Thursday 27 January.

Speaking about his children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three, – that he shares with wife Kate Middleton, 40, he explained: “We're trying to regulate their gaming, that's the thing at the moment”.

“We watch their screen time, you have to be careful about that. They do definitely like gaming, they're fascinated by that. George, particularly, he's more interested in it.”

Speaking about his two younger children, William added: “The other two are a bit too small, but they love the films. All that is creative.

“I adore film and gaming as well, I'm trying to get the next generation interested in it.”

Prince William wore an open collar blue suit and jumper to the event, which he attended without wife Kate, who had been attending a charity event the day before.

On Wednesday, Kate met with volunteers at mental health support service Shout, which, after launching publicly in May 2019, had hit a milestone of one million conversations with those in need, sparking Kate’s visit to its offices.

The couple were last seen in public together last week, on 20 January, while out on a visit at a help centre for vulnerable people suffering with poverty and addiction.

The Duke was seen comforting 11 year old schoolboy Deacon, who’d lost his mum to a heroin overdose, at Church on the Street, in Burnley, Lancashire.

William lost his motherPrincess Dianain 1997 when he was a teenager, and so understood all too well what the young boy was going through.

He was heard saying “I know how you feel” and that “it gets easier”, putting his hand on Deacon’s shoulder.

Wearing a Burnley football shirt, Deacon was reportedly initially unimpressed seeing William, as a volunteer revealed: “He thought it was a footballer coming here so he was gutted when he found out it was William and Kate.

However, the young boy gradually opened up and seemed happy enough talking to the Prince, who informed him that his father,Prince Charles , “is a Burnley fan” just like him.
