Priyanka Chopra, 38, has uploaded a snap from her teenage years, where the Quantico actress looked unrecognisable. The filmstar, who is married to Nick Jonas, recently revealed that due to a benign growth in her nasal cavity she was forced to undergo surgery, but the star became the butt of jokes in her native India.
In her new memoir Unfinished, the Hollywood star explained that her surgeon “accidentally shaved the bridge of her nose”, and as result, it collapsed completely.
Taking to Instagram, Priyanka shared a throwback photo of herself as she sported a white bikini top, paired with jogging bottoms.
The actress stood with her hands on her hips as she posed for the snap, which showcased her taut abs.
In the new flashback photo, the star looked slender and confident, while her dark tresses hung loosely over her shoulders.
In view of her 61.4 million followers, Priyanka captioned the post: “Shy? Never heard of her at all of 19!! #TBT #BindisAndBikinis.”(sic)
The throwback snap sparked a frenzy, sparking over 1.7 million likes while she was inundated with messages in the comment section.
At the time, Priyanka was a model who had stepped into the beauty pageant circuit.
The snap comes after she told readers in her new book that she was picked on for her looks, after a nose operation that went wrong in the early 2000s.
The former pageant model revealed it led to some people calling her “Plastic Chopra”.
“Fortunately, a polypectomy sounded like a pretty routine procedure. Unfortunately, it wasn’t,” Priyanka wrote in her book.
The surgeon “accidentally shaved the bridge of my nose and the bridge collapsed”, leaving the star “horrified”.
“My original nose was gone,” Priyanka continued. “My face looked completely different. I wasn’t me.”

The actress revealed that the incident had lost her upcoming work.
“All the talk of body parts and skin tone collectively made me feel devalued and unseen and uncertain about my future,” Priyanka added.
“My difference is my strength. If I looked like other ‘classically beautiful’ girls, then I wouldn’t stand out, and more importantly, I wouldn’t be me.”
She sought out a number of “corrective surgeries” and the beauty queen admitted she has “grown accustomed to this face”.
The Hollywood star recently gushed over her “forever Valentine” Nick in a heartwarming tribute on Instagram.
Priyanka and Joe tied the knot in late 2018 in a lavish three-day wedding in Mumbai, before a fourth ceremony in North Carolina.
Taking to the picture-sharing site, she shared a sweet snap of the happy couple as the actress gushed over the musician.
Priyanka penned: “My forever Valentine. I love you.”
