Rob Lowe, 57, has addressed rumours that Prince Harry, 36 and Meghan Markle’s, 39, interview with Oprah Winfrey, 67, was filmed at his Montecito house. The Parks and Recreation actor who is now neighbours with the couple, set the record straight as he acknowledged that the royals had brought a “lot of attention” to his “sleepy little town”.

They definitely have brought a lot of attention to my sleepy little town

Rob said: “They definitely have brought a lot of attention to my sleepy little town.

“Let me tell you something, once the royals move into your neighbourhood, the neighbourhood is never going to be the same.”

Despite living close to them, the actor said he has only seen Prince Harry one time, saying, “I saw Harry once driving.”

“When Oprah moved in, that began the sort of resurgence of Montecito.

“Now that the royals are here…the good news is property values go up, the bad news is the line is longer at Starbucks,” he added to E! News.

Speaking on rumours Prince Harry and Meghan had filmed their chat with Oprah in his abode, Rob shared: “It’s so funny.

“Everybody thinks the interview is shot at my house and then my friend Ted Sarandos who runs Netflix, everybody thought they shot it at his house,” Rob explained.

“Here’s my thing and I have no idea. I think they just plain old shot it at Oprah’s.

“I swear to you, and they just said it was a mystery location.”

Prince Harry quit working as a senior member of the Royal Family at the beginning of last year.

He has since moved to Montecito in Los Angeles with his wife Meghan and their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten.

Since being Stateside, the Duke has sat down for a candid chat with legendary TV host Oprah Winfrey, where he spoke about his difficulties with members of his family.

Just months after this landmark interview alongside his wife Meghan, Prince Harry further opened up about his childhood in a candid conversation with Dax Shepard on his podcast, The Armchair Expert.

“There is no blame,” he said.

“I don’t think we should be pointing the finger or blaming anybody.

“But certainly when it comes to parenting, if I’ve experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I’m going to make sure I break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on, basically.

“It’s a lot of genetic pain and suffering that gets passed on anyway so we as parents should be doing the most we can to try and say, ‘You know what, that happened to me, I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen to you’.

“It’s hard to do but for me, it comes down to awareness.”

The Duke explained how his experiences are what prompted his move to the US

He continued: “I never saw it, I never knew about it, and then suddenly I started to piece it together and go, ‘Okay, so this is where he went to school, this is what happened, I know this about his life, I also know that is connected to his parents so that means he’s treated me the way he was treated, so how can I change that for my own kids?’

“And here I am, I moved my whole family to the US, that wasn’t the plan but sometimes you’ve got make decisions and put your family first and put your mental health first,” Prince Harry finished.
