WESTERVILLE, Ohio — Actress Rosario Dawson will add some star power to Tuesday night’s Democratic debate.
The starlet and social activist, who is dating New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, has a second row seat at the Otterbein University debate, which marks the fourth time Democratic hopefuls take the debate stage.
The Post spotted Dawson’s name on a chair, placed between seats for Sean Downey, Booker’s senior New Hampshire director and lawyer Doug Emhoff, the husband of Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), also vying for the 2020 Democratic nomination. The Booker campaign confirmed her appearance.
Dawson has been absent from the first three debates, as she’s been filming a project in New Mexico.
She was joined by Booker at a recent premiere for her new film “The Need to Grow” in Los Angeles.
Booker has taken offense to coverage he says suggests Dawson should be playing the role of campaign spouse. He bristled at a Page Six headline from July that said Dawson would be missing his debate appearance “again.”
“That is one of the most gender messed up … God bless America, she is a working, single mom. And I’ve been getting some insights, I’ve been visiting her on set, she’s been doing long filmings in New Mexico,” Booker complained during a sit-down with feminist author Liz Plank, as part of her Facebook show “Consider It,” last month.
“People should say Cory Booker missing Rosario Dawson’s premiere,” Booker added.
There, Booker said Dawson was “planning to be at the next debate.”
“I’m very excited about that,” he said.
He also said he was planning to join Dawson at another premiere, for “Zombieland: Double Tap.”
Booker indeed lived up to that promise, as the two were photographed on the red carpet Friday.
