Outspoken Loose Women panellist Janet Street-Porter, 75, has once again criticised Adele, branding her “self-obsessed”, “feeble” and a “diva” after she cancelled her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency because the show “ain’t ready”.

The singer broke the news to her fans via Instagram, just a mere 24 hours before the first performance at Caesars Palace Colosseum was due to take place.

She sobbed to her 48 million followers: “I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready. I’m so upset and I’m really embarrassed.

“We’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid. Half my crew and team are [ill] with Covid…and it’s been impossible to finish the show.”

In a new column, Janet has claimed that the 33-year-old “should be embarrassed” for shelving the show.

Writing for MailOnline, Janet said: “I don’t know which was more jaw-dropping; Snivelling Adele’s feeble attempts at an apology to the camera with perfect nails on display, addressing us ordinary folk as if we were queuing for a bag of fish and chips (her actual words ‘My show ain’t ready’) – or the bare-faced cheek of coming to that decision just two days before kick-off.”

Ms Street-Porter added that Adele’s apology won’t “repay the hundreds of thousands of dollars” fans had spent on their tickets, hotels and flights and said that she had treated her fans “appallingly”.

She continued: “She’s been on a journey from wealthy woman to incredibly rich and self-obsessed global star.

“That doesn’t grant you the right to treat fans so appallingly, hoping that a snivelling apology will soften the blow.”

Tickets for the residency cost between £62 ($85) and a stifling £3,864 ($5,000).

Many of Adele’s fans sympathised with her decision to postpone the show, but others were left furious.

Veronica replied to her Instagram apology: “You have a net worth of $220 million and this is the thanks to your fans who always supported you. Having a short notice cancellation is not acceptable for a show happening tomorrow…pay and refund all the expenses that all these people invested to see you and support you. I’m pretty sure you can afford it!”

Btorp1 echoed: “Waiting until one day before the concert means many won’t be able to get a refund of travel or hotel. This is poor form.”

And Kristian raged: “Thousands of fans spent their savings travelling to Vegas and booking hotels just for you to go on Instagram one night before the show and say it’s cancelled. It’s not ok!”

Amanda, on the other hand, wrote: “We love you—thank you for doing what is right even when it isn’t easy.”

The columnist wrote: “Adele has earned a fortune from portraying herself as an unhappy misery.

“Now she’s one of the most famous people in the world with a multi-million-pound fortune isn’t it time to button up, to let the songs speak for themselves, to spare us the back story, the intimate details about a failed marriage- especially when we are only hearing one side of the story?”

Adele had just sat down with Oprah Winfrey for an interview about her divorce from Simon Konecki and her life as a single mum.

The interview led Janet to draw comparisons to the Duchess of Sussex.

She penned: “Can you any longer tell the difference between Meghan Markle and Adele Adkins? Both had difficult relationships with their fathers and worship their mothers.

“Both felt that Oprah was the best person to share their ‘truths’ with.”
