Strictly Come Dancing star Greg Wise's fans were delighted to spot his wife Emma Thompson in the show's audience cheering him on.

Yet Greg and Emma aren't the only stars in the family, with their 21-year-old daughter Gaia Romilly Wise joining her parents in the industry.

Gaia, who joined her mother in the Strictly audience, is beginning to make a name for herself as an actress after appearing alongside her mother Emma in the feature film A Walk in the Woods and appearing in the theatre production of Sweeney Todd.

And it seems her acting career is set to take off further, with three more projects lined up.

But despite her famous parents, Gaia hasn't had it easy – with the young actress courageously opening up about her battle with anorexia.

Posting weight comparison photos to instagram earlier this year, Gaia explained: "So, many people are posting fabulous bodily changes they have achieved either over the past few years, or over lockdown. The majority I have seen are about weight loss.

"I decided to share something a little different; my journey from anorexia to a healthy body. Much of it has been a battle but I’m now 18months in a stable and happy weight range.

"I was terrified of sharing this but I thought that it might be useful to see the polar opposite…who knows…it might even be helpful to another human.”

She continued: "Since the first picture was taken the biggest thing that has changed is that I have moved into my own flat. It doesn’t seem massive but if you had told me 16 months ago I would have been secure, stable and happy enough to look after a home, i probably would’ve slapped you across the face to make you see sense.”

Fans of the actress flocked to the comments to congratulate her on her strength and wish her well in the future.

One said: “Wonderful to speak out about your journey. It will help so many, so much love.”

Another wrote: “Good on you girl! You’re in a fight so keep talking and sharing with your family and friends and followers. Very proud of you”.

A third simply said: "Brave & Beautiful"

Gaia had made her catwalk debut earlier this month at the This is Icon gala in London to help raise money for NHS charities.

Appearing at the event, Emma Thompson said: "I came to surprise my daughter tonight and I am so proud of her doing this show and she looked sensational and my husband he's off dancing its sequins galore in our house right now!"

Gaia was born in 1999, before her parents went on to also informally adopt a son four years later in 2003.
