'The Bernie Mac Show' Star Camille Winbush Claps Back at People Criticizing Her for Creating an OnlyFans

The Bernie Mac Show actor Camille Winbush is the latest star to join OnlyFans. After some feedback she received on her announcement that she is now on the platform, Winbush had some words for some of the naysayers.

The popularity of OnlyFans is increasing with celebrities

OnlyFans is a social media platform in which users can earn money off from their content as opposed to giving it away for free. It consists of several different membership options where you can pay for content on a monthly basis. People can also sign-up and pay for multiple months at a time instead of month-by-month. Content creators can also have pay-per-view content in addition to getting tips from fans in general or on specifiic posts.

Though OnlyFans was popularized by sex workers, many celebrities have been using it to post exclusive, safe-for-work content to charge their fans.

Earlier this week, Winbush announced that she would be starting her own OnlyFans account.

She wrote:

“Yes, you heard that right. I have joined OF!But I’m doing it my way*- I’ll be saying the things I really want to say, singin’ & dancing, and sharing exclusive content. But don’t think it’s just for the men. I’m finally dropping the skin care routine, I’ll be doing regular live sessions with Q&A’s, special guests, and most importantly- I’ll be able to talk to and connect with you one on one. I want to hear from you so come thru! -CandidlyCam (Link in bio)”

She also confirmed that her content on the platform would not be extremely NSFW, adding the disclaimer, “*My way = minimal nudity. So if that’s what you’re expecting sorry not sorry to disappoint.”

Camille Winbush responds to people about her OnlyFans

After she began to receive a lot of comments on her OnlyFans announcement, Winbush posted another Instagram to address what people were saying.

“I made the mistake of reading comments about my ‘fan’ announcement,” reads the post in part. “Overall, the majority were supportive and I appreciate that. I really do. But I’m human and of course the ones that stick out to me were the negatives. So let me be clear – I am not broke or desperate for money.”

She specifically addressed the people who had been commenting on her posts saying that Bernie Mac was turning over in his grave. “Bernie, God rest his soul, is not turning over in his grave,” she added. “STOP saying that. Even if meant as a joke, it is far from funny.”

Winbush went on to state that she does not need to call anyone in Hollywood for a job and that she’s not doing this for money either. The actress says that she’s only doing it because she wants to.

“I do not need to call Tyler Perry for a job,” she explained. “I’m not spending thousands of dollars on school to get a degree so that I can get a ‘real job’, whatever that means. I will not now, or ever be doing porn. YouTube does not equal an automatic payday. Working in Hollywood has never been my endgame. H**l, to not have to work at all is my goal. I made an OF because I wanted to, not out of necessity.”
