The Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond has created a recipe for Honey Mustard Drumsticks with vegetables that have “barely any cleanup,” perfect for quick weeknight dinners. The prep time for this delicious sheet pan supper is just around 20 minutes, and in total, the meal can be pulled together and on the table in just under one hour.
Ree Drummond is a huge fan of sheet pan suppers
Drummond loves to create new and exciting ways to use sheet pans to pull a meal together. Using sheet pans makes for a quick and easy dinner and cleanup.
Drummond fell in love with the idea of sheet pan meals the first time she tried one. “Once I discovered that you could throw everything on a sheet pan and cook the whole meal together, I was hooked for life,” she said via The Pioneer Woman website.
Because all of the cooking happens on one sheet, the flavors of the vegetables and meat combine to form a taste sensation.
These are also easily adaptable for vegetarian meals. Tofu can be seasoned and baked along with vegetables, and pizzas can be created with loads of colorful, delicious veggies as toppings.
The ingredients for Honey Mustard Drumsticks with Vegetables are right from the pantry
Pulling together this sheet pan supper is as easy as pulling ingredients right from the pantry and refrigerator. The recipe is located in the Fall 2021 issue of The Pioneer Woman Magazine.
The ingredient list includes chicken drumsticks, salt, pepper, honey, dijon mustard, whole grain mustard, red wine vinegar, olive oil, baby potatoes, and small broccoli florets.
The only kitchen tools needed are two-sheet pans and aluminum foil.
How to make Ree Drummond’s Honey Mustard Drumsticks with Vegetables
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line the pans with aluminum foil. Toss chicken with salt and pepper to season.
In a bowl, combine 2 tbsp. Honey, double that amount of mustard, 1 tbsp. Vinegar and olive oil. Pour half of the mixture over the chicken and toss it to coat.
Place the chicken on one sheet pan, leaving enough room for it to roast properly. Not crowding the pans will lead to a more even roasting of the meat.
Add olive oil to potatoes and broccoli. Add salt and pepper and add to the second sheet pan, spreading out to cook evenly.
Bake both pans for around 40 minutes. Use the reserved honey-mustard mixture to baste chicken in the middle of cooking.
Drummond used a similar method to create an Italian Chicken Sheet Pan Supper. That recipe can be found on the Pioneer Woman website.
