Travis Barker Speaks Out on Hospitalization After "Severe Life-Threatening Pancreatitis"

Travis Barker has released a statement following his hospitalization on Tuesday of last week, confirming reports that he has been suffering from “severe life-threatening pancreatitis” and is still receiving treatment.

“I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great,” Travis wrote in on both Instagram and Twitter. “But After dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since. During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis. I am so very very grateful that with intensive treatment I am currently much better.”

Travis didn’t say when he is expected to be discharged from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, but Kourtney Kardashian has been with him throughout his entire stay. A source told People last week that she wouldn’t “leave his side,” while another insider told Us Weekly that “Kourtney is by his side and will remain by his side.”

Travis’ children also have been supporting him through his hospitalization. His daughter Atiana thanked fans for their prayers on Wednesday, saying, “Thank you for the outpouring of love and prayers sent our way at this time. It is heard, felt, and appreciated Xx.”
