Meghan King Edmonds and Jim Edmonds are getting a divorce after five years of marriage. The Real Housewives of Orange County alum had been rumored to be having a rocky relationship with the former baseball player and Us Weekly confirmed they’re calling it quits.
It was Jim that filed the paperwork on Friday, October 25, just a day after their wedding anniversary.
“Meghan and Jim have been fighting,” one source told the publication. “The latest fight began when he went to a recent hockey game and she began interrogating him about who he went with.”
Cheating rumors
Rumors were rampant of what caused the divorce of the couple and fans were quick to remember their scandals. Back in June of this year, the former MLB star issued a statement after he was caught exchanging inappropriate messages.
“I engaged in an inappropriate conversation with this person,” Jim said in a statement to Us Weekly. “At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact. Absolutely none. This is someone trying to profit from my name. I am aware she has done this to others in the past.”
At the time of the affair, Meghan was pregnant with twins, which only made the situation that much more tragic.

Allegations of an affair with the nanny
Following the news that the couple was divorcing, Meghan shared a selfie on Instagram that she captioned, “so raw.”
A fan replied to the publication with an observation that caught the attention of the former RHOC star.
“Judging by Jim’s Instagram, I’m guessing it’s nanny Carly whom he posted nine photos of 11 months ago. She has deleted her [Instagram],” the user wrote.
Meghan replied with a thumbs up seemingly confirming what her fan was suggesting.
On Carly’s social media profile, one of her followers asked her directly if the rumors of a relationship with Jim were true.
“The allegations are completely false,” the nanny replied.

Meghan King Edmonds praised her nanny
At one point, Meghan praised dedicated a whole blog post to her nanny for supporting her with her babies.
“I know now that with the incredible example that Carly has been for my kids they will be better people because of her,” Meghan wrote.
She continued, “Carly is a God-send to our family, she is our real-life angel. She has become like a daughter to us who is also a friend, a nanny, a confidant, a teacher, and – I can say this honestly and proudly – like a second mother to our three babies. Love has no limits and Carly has demonstrated this time and time again from the bottom of her soul.”

It was in November 2018 when Meghan wrote the previous post where she was announcing Carly was becoming a full-time student. At that moment she was living at the Edmonds’ place but was moving out to study.
In the middle of their divorce, Meghan has been working on getting treatment for her son Hart that has a condition called Periventricular Leukomalacia. Meghan confirmed that her baby had irreversible brain damage but was making strides after his therapies.
