Jamie Fox and Katie Holmes‘ entire relationship has pretty much been one big mystery to the public. We assume that they have been in a romantic relationship for around five or six years, but neither one has ever admitted to it.
However, they have been spotted out in public on several different occasions, and sometimes, they had even been spotted in a few romantic situations.
So, even though the to had never officially announced their relationship, the public was able to figure out on their own that Foxx and Holmes are dating.
Recently, there have been rumors that the secretive couple has decided to split up. How is it that fans know that the two have called it quits when both Foxx and Holmes refuse to give any details about their relationship? Here is what we know about why fans think that these two have split up or are on a break.
Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes’ relationship
In 2013, about a year after Holmes divorced A-lister Tom Cruise, Holmes was spotted dancing at a charity function with Foxx. After hearing about their fun night of dancing, many fans believed that the two were starting to enter a courtship.
However, they had both denied the rumors. Foxx had even gone on Entertainment Tonight and said: “[The rumors] are one hundred percent not true. In fact, it’s quite hilarious because we simply danced at a charity event along with a lot of other people.”
Many people seemed to accept Foxx’s explanation and thought that the two were just friends. But then, in 2015, the two were caught holding hands in public. Then, in 2016, Foxx’s good friends, Claudia Jordan, accidentally leaked their secret when she went on a podcast and confirmed that Foxx was, in fact, dating Holmes and that the two were very happy together.
Over the next few months, Holmes and Foxx were spotted out together on multiple other occasions. And another picture had surfaced of the pair holding hands again, only this time, they were taking a romantic stroll along the beach. At this point, there was no need for either one of them publicly confirm or deny the rumors, because most people already came to the conclusion that they were dating.
Why do fans think that Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx broke up?
A little over a week ago, Page Six reported that Foxx was seen at a popular nightclub with another woman. Paparazzi spotted Foxx helping model and recording artist, Sela Vave, out of the car. The young model was dressed to impress with her tan-colored mini dress that didn’t leave much to the imagination.
Vave has posted pictures of her and Foxx on her social media pages in the past. And it is suggested that he has been helping her with her career. However, some fans were quick to note that the fact Foxx stayed so close to her throughout the entire time that they were at the nightclub may suggest that they are more than just friends.
Did the couple’s long-distance relationship cause the alleged breakup?
For the last few years, Holmes has lived in New York while Foxx has been living in Los Angeles. According to In Touch Weekly, Holmes was having a hard time with not being able to see Foxx on a regular basis.
A source had told In touch weekly the combination of Foxx’s need to party all of the time and the fact that they lived so far away from each other is what had ultimately made them break up.
“For months he’s been promising to calm his wild ways, but nothing’s changed and [Holmes] has finally come to the conclusion that she wants to be with a guy who’s more mature and ready to settle down.”
The source also said that Holmes “can’t keep an eye on him when he’s in L.A. and is fed up with doing the whole long-distance thing so gave him an ultimatum – either move to New York or it’s over!”
