As long as Paris Hilton has been in the spotlight, there has been a slew of misconceptions about her and who she is as a person. People had made fun of her for years, especially when it came to her dating life. For a while, it was cool to call her awful things like a “slut” or a “whore” because she’d date in her late teens and early twenties. You know, the time when most people actively date? It gave her a lot of unwarranted negative attention, along with a series of rumors about who she dated.

But it’s 2023, and Hilton is setting the record straight.

Fans are getting a close glimpse into Hilton’s life, from childhood to her meteoric rise to fame, with the release of her memoir entitled Paris: The Memoir, which is set to be released on March 14!

Now, like many A-listers, there are a lot of rumors about her dating life, but we’re not here to talk about that. Like Marilyn Monroe and Pamela Anderson, we’re only going to talk about the confirmed relationships in these talented ladies’ lives. Because who has time for the rumors?

  • Rick Salomon (2000-2001)

Paris Hilton and Rick Salomon are most famously linked due to a sex tape of the two that he ended up leaking in 2003.

“He kept pushing,” she says in her memoir. “He told me if I wouldn’t do it, he could easily find someone who would, and that was the worst thing I could think of — to be dumped by this grown man because I was a stupid kid who didn’t know how to play grown-up games.” She added the extra tragic detail that she used alcohol and Quaaludes to calm down, “I needed to prove something to him and to myself, so I got hammered, and I did it.”

The two dated for less than a year from 2000 to 2001.

  • Jason Shaw (2001-2003)

Image Credit: Photo by Sylvain Gaboury/FilmMagic.

Jason Shaw and Paris Hilton originally met outside the Four Seasons in LA in 2001, and started to date soon after. They got engaged the following year, in May 2002, and Hilton recently revealed she fell pregnant with him before having an abortion in 2003.

Not much else is known about the low-key couple, but they decided to split in 2003. However, they did spark romance rumors in 2010 after being seen out and about. Romance rumors were quickly squashed, though, and someone from Hilton’s team told E! News per UsMagazine: “Paris has always loved Jason and cared about him deeply. But when they were together she was just a kid and not ready for such a commitment.”

  • Deryck Whibley (2003)

Back in 2003, Paris Hilton and Deryck Whibley dated for less than six months — but made quite a few high-profile appearances together. Whibley later told Howard Stern that they “hung out,” but were never exclusive.

  • Joe Francis (2003)

Back in 2003, Paris Hilton and Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis were going hot and heavy. However, Francis has had nothing but dark things to say about their brief romance. Back in 2004, he told People, “Paris is indomitable,” and “a handful.” He added, “You can’t date Paris seriously without drama.”

Fast forward to 2022, and on an episode of the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast., Francis alleged that she tried to beat him for breaking up with her. “I swear to God, I had to call the security of [the hotel], and then she started beating me, because she was drunk,” he said.

  • Nick Carter (2003-2004)

Paris Hilton and Nick Carter were definitely one of the beloved It-couples of the early 2000s. The two only lasted a little over six months before eventually calling it quits in July 2004. Apparently, when Hilton’s sex tape was leaked, it threw a curve ball in their relationship, but it seems they still stayed strong after.

In Carter’s 2013 memoir Facing the Music And Living To Talk About It, he talked about the relationship, saying, “Paris was the worst person in the world for me to hook up with. [She] fed my worst impulses as far as partying.”

  • Simon Rex (2004-2010)

So Paris Hilton and Simon Rex briefly dated in 2004, but continued to have a fling every now and then throughout the years until 2010!

  • Paris Latsis (2004-2005)

Image Credit: Photo by David Lodge/FilmMagic.

Paris Latsis and Paris Hilton started dating in Dec 2004, and everyone instantly loved the two heirs’ love story. Hilton was instantly smitten and they got engaged in Aug 2005. She told Vanity Fair, “He’s just amazing. I thought I was going to end up with some jackass.”

Latsis proposed by presenting Hilton with a selection of 15 different engagement rings from jewelers such as Tiffany & Co. and Harry Winston, per E! Online. However, the engagement was short-lived because called it off only a month later, in Sept 2005.

  • Stavros Niarchos (2005-2007)

Stavros Niarchos and Paris Hilton dated on and off between 2005 and 2007, before ending things for good in March 2007. Niarchos was previously in a relationship with Mary-Kate Olsen, whom he left for the hotel heiress (and caused a rift in their friendship!)

Not much is known about their relationship, but Hilton did throw Niarchos a surprise 21st birthday bash at her Hollywood Hills home just before calling it quits, per People.

  • Benji Madden (2008)

Image Credit: Photo by Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic.

That’s right, Paris Hilton and Benji Madden dated for nine months in 2008, right when his twin brother Joel Madden was dating her best friend Nicole Richie (whom he would later marry and share two children with!)

Hilton told David Letterman in May 2008 that the pairing was “perfect,” saying, “We’re like sisters and they’re twins, so it works out well. Nicole and I would be sisters-in-law. We talk about it. I’m so happy. I’m so in love.”

She added, “I know I want to spend the rest of my life with Benji, my boyfriend. I know I want to be with him forever. If you saw us together, you’d understand. He’s my best friend.”

However, they ended up calling it quits in late 2008 after drifting apart.

  • Doug Reinhardt (2009-2010)

The Hills alum Doug Reinhardt and Paris Hilton started dating in 2009 after meeting through mutual friends. They were hot and heavy for a while before Hilton decided to call it quits.

She later told Us Weekly one week after their split, “I am like so past that. I don’t even care. I don’t even remember that time in my life. I am over it!”

Hilton added in another interview with Us Magazine: “So I ended it because I deserve something much better! He wasn’t right for me and I will eventually find somebody who loves me for who I am.”

  • Cy Waits (2010-2011)

Image Credit: Photo by Robert Marquardt/Getty Images.

Cy Waits and Paris Hilton started dating in 2010, soon after meeting at his nightclub. The two had a roller-coaster romance, including getting arrested together when Hilton was found with cocaine in front of his nightclub in 2010, per People, and Hilton slapping him across the face after he was having a jealous, expletive-ridden tirade towards her, per Daily Mail.

They split up in 2011, and Waits talked to People about their split. They said, “At the end of the day, I want my partner and I to have the same ethics. Partying is not my thing. I live a healthy lifestyle. I avoid drugs … I have a social cocktail every now and then.”

  • River Viiperi (2012-2014)

Image Credit: Photo by David Livingston/Getty Images.

Paris Hilton and model River Viiperi were hot and heavy for two years, from 2012 to 2014. Hilton seemed smitten with him quite early on. “I am so in love. I feel so lucky to have met him. He’s one of the kindest, most loyal men I’ve ever met in my entire life, and he treats me like a princess,” she previously said to Who.

However, they called it quits in 2014.

  • Thomas Gross (2015-2016)

Businessman Thomas Gross and Paris Hilton’s relationship may be one of her most low-key ever, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t madly in love from 2015 to 2016. (She even called him her “soulmate,” per People!) They originally met and hit it off soon after meeting at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, and kept a low-profile throughout their year-long romance.

  • Chris Zylka (2017-2018)

Image Credit: Photo by Rosdiana Ciaravolo/Getty Images.

Paris Hilton and Chris Zylka started dating in 2017, after being friends for years prior. However, soon after they became a couple, Zylka proposed to Hilton in early 2018 during a ski trip in Aspen, Colorado, (and with a $2 million ring!)

Sadly, they called off their engagement in Nov 2018. Many believed they split up due to Hilton’s insanely busy schedule, with her once telling People why they postponed the wedding: “I want to be able to be relaxed, not stressed out and not having to rush off to a different country the next day. I want to be able to go directly from my wedding to my honeymoon and with my schedule [right now] that would be impossible.”

  • Carter Reum (2020- Present)

Image Credit: Photo by Lester Cohen/Getty Images for The Recording Academy.

Paris Hilton eventually found her happily ever after with businessman Carter Reum! They started dating back in Dec 2019, after falling out sometime in their twenties. But thanks to Reum’s sister Halle Hammond, the two got together, and a little over a year later: the pair got engaged, per People.

Then their lavish ceremony set the entertainment world by storm, truly making it the wedding of the century (which you can still see in the docuseries called Paris in Love on Peacock!)

The pair welcomed their first child, a son named Phoenix, in January 2023!
