The Met Gala is always one of the biggest red carpets of the year, so every celeb wants to put their best foot forward to impress Vogue editor Anna Wintour. But this year, the new moms, who showed up and served major fashion looks after having a baby (including one star as recently as 12 weeks ago), are the superstars of the night.
And we have to hand it to these moms because there was probably a lot of multi-tasking going on while getting ready for the red carpet with their glam squad. But they managed to make it all work because it takes a village. And even a model like Gigi Hadid has made it clear that she’s taking her time when it comes to her postpartum body (even though she already looks amazing). “I know that I’m not as small as I was before, but I also am a very realistic thinker. I straight up was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll shoot a Vogue cover, but I’m obviously not going to be a size 0,’ nor do I, at this point, feel like I need to be back to that,” she told Vogue. “I also think it’s a blessing of this time in fashion that anyone who says that I have to be that can suck it.”
We love Hadid for that — and that’s why we are celebrating all of the new moms out there on the red carpet at the Met Gala. (And seriously, don’t miss Karlie Kloss’ stunning red gown.)
