More than six months since the project was first announced, Stone Island and New Balance have officially revealed their collaboration. Described as “the first chapter of this long-term partnership,” the new release focuses on the RC ELITE running shoe. The shoe’s design mixes New Balance’s athletic heritage with Stone Island’s history of pioneering materials and processes.
In this collaboration, the RC ELITE has been dressed in a white and red colorway. The stand-out feature is the rip across the breathable 3D knit upper, which reveals a pair of red logos beneath. The alternate branding continues onto the tongue, with the left foot tagged by “Stone Island Product Research” and the right foot featuring New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio branding.
The sneaker also features a range of technical features befitting its performance heritage. These are particuparly notable in the midsole, which is packed with FuelCell technology and a carbon fiber plate for energy eturn, propulsuive transition and a 360-degree functionality.
