Balenciaga Decks the Runner Sneaker in Hi-Vis Hues

Demna‘s Balenciaga is on a roll having just announced its ménage à trois with Kanye West’s YEEZY GAP and its seasonal Chinese New Year-celebrating capsule, and now it returns to sneakers with yet another take on the Runner.

So far, the Runner has appeared in colors specific to the aforementioned Chinese New Year drop, as well as in black and white, metallic rainbow, baby pink, and of course the original colorways that came back in July last year.

Now, Demna’s team decks the pair in an array of hi-vis hues. Starting with a black mesh base, Balenciaga covers the leather-free pair in off white, police blue, and vivid green overlaying panels that give the shoe its early 2000s, chunky dad sneaker vibe. A grey mesh tongue is branded with Balenciaga embroidery, while the Tipex-style sizing on the toe remains in white. At the rear, we find more sizing alongside Balenciaga’s moniker on the heel, while “runner” branding hits up the lateral-side midsole.

As for the sole unit itself, it’s split into six sections and is rounded off with a multi-piece outsole, while completing the shoe’s look is a small touch of 3M highlighting.

Take a look at the Balenciaga Runner above, and purchase it from Balenciaga’s website and stores now for $1,150 USD.
