While the Balenciaga Speed Trainer is long past its prime, the silhouette has been attempting to regain momentum by showing face with updated looks and builds. In recent memory, we’ve seen the model get remixed into mule form, and now it has resurfaced on our radar in remixed fashion with sole units from the Balenciaga 3XL Trainer.
The base layer retains all of its standard design cues: ribbed ankles, a solid black polyester build that’s made from recycled objects, all-capitalized Balenciaga branding that adorns the forefoot in white font and black rubber midsole molds and toe caps. Down below, the bottom has been ripped right from the 3XL Trainer and styled with angelic midsole pieces and black trading. Given that this component is more exaggerated in aesthetic, features more textured paneling and has a dip in the middle, it spruces up the lifestyle silhouette with a modernized and more dimensional look and feel. Additional tonal Balenciaga branding touches down on the toe and heel bumpers.
Parties interested in picking up a pair can expect the luxury house to release these within the coming months.
For other footwear news, the Balenciaga Triple S model was recently unveiled with an all-denim build.
