The new year really did start off happy for the Beyhive — on New Year’s Eve, Beyoncé gifted her fans with new photos of her kids as part of a 2019 recap video. Or, as Queen Bey called it, a “Bey-Cap!!” Naturally, the montage featured highlights from various milestone moments Beyoncé enjoyed last year. However, it’s the rare glimpses of Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir Carter (her children with husband Jay-Z) that have everyone talking.
“Cheers to 2020!” the video starts before launching into a rapid sequence of snapshots and short video clips that were taken throughout 2019. Among them? The family’s holiday photoshoot featuring Blue Ivy and an enviable second birthday party for Rumi and Sir. In between all of the high-fashion, high-profile moments that flash by in the video montage exist low-key moments of Beyoncé’s mom-life — er, as low-key as you can get when you’re the Queen anyway.
What’s perhaps most surprising about the new photos of the kids, though, is just how much they’ve grown! Blue Ivy, 7, is starting to look like her famous mom’s twin. And as for the actual twins? They’re not babies anymore. Now two, Rumi and Sir have segued into toddlerhood behind-the-scenes.
The video wasn’t the only glimpse into Bey’s rapidly growing kids shared on New Year’s Eve. Rapper Megan Thee Stallion posted two black-and-white shots of herself with Beyoncé and Blue which appear to be from a New Year’s Eve party. “Happy 2020 @beyonce,” Stallion captioned the pics, the second of which adorably shows off Blue’s toothy grin.
And while there’s no denying Blue slightly favors dad Jay-Z still, the “Hot Girl Summer” singer’s photos prove that the almost-eight-year-old may ultimately end up being her mom’s doppelganger. Plus, how cute is the mother-daughter duo’s relationship? The photos are just the latest example in a long line of instances in which Bey and Blue put their BFF status on display.
