Chrissy Teigen has shared a very honest update after undergoing her first colonoscopy, admitting that she wanted it to go on for longer.
The 37-year-old made headlines earlier this week when she revealed that her doctor urged her to book an appointment and get herself checked out.
Wasting no time, the cookbook author – who recently welcomed a fourth child with husband John Legend – got right to it and shared an update with fans as she left her appointment.
‘I just woke up from my colonoscopy and I feel great,’ she explained in a video shared on her Instagram story.
‘It took like 20 minutes. I honestly wish it took longer, because it was a good nap.’
Only Chrissy Teigen would manage to make a colonoscopy sound like a relaxing massage.
Ahead of the procedure – which involves an examination of the large bowel and the distal part of the small bowel with a camera – she opened up about her decision to book herself in for an appointment.
In a candid post on social media, the mom-of-four explained that health experts warned the age for a colon cancer diagnosis is lowering.
‘Soon there’s going to be a very large jump in people my age and even a little younger getting colon cancer because we don’t get checked,’ Chrissy said.
‘And we don’t get checked because we’re not told to. You think that your parents are the ones that get checked.
‘I have my first colonoscopy because I was told by my doctor that people are getting it younger and younger, and they should go in earlier and earlier to get checked now.’
Chrissy’s post comes after she announced the surprise news of her fourth child with John, via a surrogate.
The couple are already parents to children Luna and Miles, and welcomed Esti into the fold just a few months ago.
In 2020, they tragically lost their son Jack before during Chrissy’s pregnancy.

In a surprise post at the end of June, she confirmed that they had added to their family once more with baby boy Wren.
‘For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted four children,’ she began a lengthy post. ‘After losing Jack, I didn’t think I’d be able to carry any more babies on my own. To be honest, I’ve personally blocked out a lot of my mindset during that time, but one clear memory is being surrounded by people who wanted to make sure I wouldn’t go through that pain and loss again.
‘In 2021, we reached out to a surrogacy agency. At some point, early in our surrogacy journey, I came out of a therapy session, walked downstairs and said to John – I want to try to carry just one more time. If it doesn’t work, we will be okay.
‘So we restarted the IVF process, the same process that gave us our beautiful Luna and Miles. We made new embryos. We did my transfer and were so happy to learn it worked – we were pregnant with our little girl, Esti.’

‘Around this same time, we also met the most incredible, loving, compassionate surrogate we could ever imagine, Alexandra,’ she added. ‘I knew she was a perfect match for us the moment we spoke to her.
‘All our wishes and dreams aligned. I wanted to be her friend, I wanted our children to play, I wanted dinner together, I wanted to lay my head on her belly and be able to feel the hiccups and kicks.
‘And we are so happy to tell the world he is here, with a name forever connected to you, Wren Alexander Stephens.
‘Our hearts, and our home, are officially full. And to our Jack, we know both their angel kisses are from you.’
