Heavy Italian rain poured on Diesel‘s outdoor show at Milan Fashion Week, seeing the 150-foot red-carpeted runway backdropped by intense techno music and larger-than-life digital screens. With over 5,000 people in attendance, Diesel’s Spring/Summer 2024 showcase was nothing short of a spectacle.
Belgian designer Glenn Martens continues to let the general public experience the magic of Diesel, raffling off thousands of tickets for a chance to attend. Diesel’s 73-look SS24 collection was thrilling all around, playing with shredded denim signatures that keep boldness at the fore. Senjan Jansen‘s thumping soundtracks created a rave-like atmosphere, bringing people together for a good time.
Models walked through the rain unbothered, wearing bleached T-shirts with distressed grey bottoms. They fell apart in movement, seeing dismantled versions with sheer underpinnings reveal subtle pockets of skin. Discolored anoraks and knitted tank tops donned white splotches that mimic extensive wear, while V-neck dresses and oversized cardigans were minced to perfection.
Martens evolved the brand’s youthful outputs across street-ready looks muddled and cemented in dirt for everyday party-goers. Action-packed graphic tees resembled daring movie posters, while spray-painted models wore full silver looks from another universe. Diesel’s adventurous leather offerings were ignited in flames, featuring burning “D” graphics drowned in smoke. The SS24 collection ended with a slew of golden costumes, seeing plastic-like tops, skirts, and bodycon dresses hug the natural human form.
